VMF Cook Barracks redevelopment project

The redevelopment of the VMF Cook Barracks is part of a collaborative effort between the Governments of Vanuatu and Australia to strengthen the operational capability of the Vanuatu Police Force. This large-scale infrastructure project aims to enhance security and stimulate Vanuatu’s economy by bolstering local industry and commercial activity. The initiative prioritizes employing, training, and upskilling local workers, utilizing local materials and services whenever possible, and creating 200 jobs throughout the project’s duration. The project is delivered by an integrated team, including Australian Army engineers, designers from GHD, and contractors from Icon Australia and Reeves International, with active involvement of the Vanuatu Mobile Force.
