BildBeta was established by François Sail and Franck Franconieri, bringing together their complementary expertise and shared vision:

  • François, a French-trained engineer with years of experience in Vanuatu’s construction sector, focused on engineering and project management for development and cooperation program.
  • Franck, a builder with 20 years of hands-on building experience, sought opportunities to take on larger and more challenging projects and saw the value in partnering with an engineer.

Their unique connection and complementary skills —Franck’s deep understanding of the Vanuatu business market and François’s engineering and project management background— enabled BildBeta to grow quickly and deliver high-quality engineering and project management services.

In mid-2024, driven by its solid track record and growing client demand for professional engineering services, BildBeta entered a new phase of growth. Recognizing the opportunity to scale up, BildBeta welcomed one new investor :

  • Stéphanie Hamel – Water and Environmental Engineer

And new collaborators, each adding specialized expertise to the team:

  • Isabelle Choutet – Project Manager, CC/DRM

This expansion allowed BildBeta to respond to the increasing needs of larger clients and diversify its core competencies beyond building and infrastructure projects and support to international NGOS. With new capabilities in water and environmental engineering, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk management, BildBeta enhanced its capacity to address resilience in building and infrastructure, a critical concern in Vanuatu and other Pacific island states. With this strengthened team, BildBeta is well-positioned to tackle complex infrastructure challenges while remaining committed to sustainable, community-oriented solutions.

François SAIL

Director | Principal Engineer

François is a Civil and Geotechnical Engineer with 10 years of experience in cyclone-resistant design, project management, and post-disaster recovery in Vanuatu. He specializes in resilient infrastructure for both urban and rural projects. With a strong understanding of Vanuatu’s logistical challenges, François delivers resilient solutions for a wide range of clients.

Franck FRANCONIERI

Technical & Project Advisor

With 20+ years in construction, Franck has been pivotal to BildBeta’s growth. His deep knowledge of the Vanuatu market and local partnerships supports the company’s strategic operations. Frank provides technical expertise in feasibility studies, risk analysis, and resource planning. His contributions are key to the success of large-scale construction projects.

Stéphanie HAMEL

Water & Environmental Engineer

Stéphanie, with 18 years in international development and engineering, specializes in water, sanitation, and climate adaptation. As former Country Manager for Engineers Without Borders in Vanuatu, she led rural and peri-urban water projects. Her expertise in capacity building and both humanitarian and development work strengthens BildBeta’s focus on sustainable water and sanitation solutions.

Patrick AWU

Lead Structural Engineer

Patrick Awu is an Associate Structural Engineer and Construction Project Manager at BildBeta, with 20+ years across construction, including 15+ as a structural engineer. He designs and analyses RC and steel, manages projects end-to-end, and ensures code-compliant, well-documented delivery. Patrick leads assessments, mentors juniors, and supports post-earthquake and cyclone recovery across Vanuatu and Nigeria.

Roman is a Junior Engineer, graduated from AUT, New Zealand. At BildBeta, he works as a draftsman, supporting structural detailing, documentation, and compliance with local and international standards. With prior experience in building services engineering, he combines cross-disciplinary coordination with a creative mindset, always ready to propose new and unconventional solutions.
